Rencontres de Faverolles – Forum de la Modeat Domaine des Oseraies: Where Fashion, Art and the Future of Luxury Meet

By RepoStage

An exclusive gathering of industry leaders, designers, artists and thinkers explores the evolving boundaries of luxury, the power of creative collaboration and the future of the European fashion industry.

On September 12, the Domaine des Oseraies in Faverolles becomes a meeting point for the worlds of fashion, art, culture and business. Organised by IFM Alumni, the Forum de la Mode brings together leading voices from the international fashion industry for a day of dialogue, artistic performances and forward-looking discussions.

Set within the distinctive surroundings of the Domaine des Oseraies, the forum offers more than a traditional industry gathering. It creates a space where established luxury houses, emerging talents, cultural institutions and creative minds can exchange ideas about the transformations shaping contemporary fashion.

From Creative Vision to the Future of Luxury

One of the day’s highlights is the conversation between Pascal Morand, Executive President of the Fédération de la Haute Couture et de la Mode (FHCM), and Mike Amiri, founder and creative director of AMIRI. Their dialogue brings together two perspectives on the fashion industry: the institutional vision of French fashion and the entrepreneurial creativity of a designer whose brand has developed its own distinctive identity within contemporary luxury. At a time when fashion houses are reconsidering their cultural relevance, global ambitions and relationship with new generations of consumers, the exchange promises to address the forces redefining the industry.

The programme continues with an informal lunch, accompanied by an artistic performance by Arthur Robert (Ouest) and Anna Massoni, connected to Chaillot’s Mode & Danse project. The collaboration highlights the growing dialogue between fashion and movement, bringing the language of performance into a setting traditionally associated with design and craftsmanship.

The New Frontiers of Luxury

At 14:30, the round table Les nouvelles frontières du luxe brings together professionals representing different dimensions of the fashion and lifestyle ecosystem. Anthony Drouot of Lemaire, Alix Morabito of Galeries Lafayette, Nicolas Rohr, co-founder of Faguo, and Maxime Coupez of Nelly Rodi will examine the changing definitions of luxury. Moderated by Virginie Jacoberger of Les Échos, the discussion places the perspectives of fashion design, retail, entrepreneurship and trend forecasting in conversation. Today, luxury is no longer defined exclusively by price, exclusivity or heritage. Questions of sustainability, desirability, cultural identity and responsible production have become central to how brands develop and communicate their value. The challenge is to preserve a sense of distinction while responding to consumers whose expectations are evolving rapidly. The diversity of the speakers makes this discussion particularly relevant: the future of luxury depends not only on the creative vision of designers, but also on distribution models, consumer behaviour and the ability of businesses to anticipate cultural change.

Fabrice Hyber: Art as a Language of Possibility

Art takes centre stage at 15:30 with a masterclass featuring contemporary artist Fabrice Hyber in conversation with Stéphane Wargnier, Director of the Image programme at the Institut Français de la Mode (IFM). Known for his interdisciplinary practice and his exploration of relationships between nature, science, language and society, Hyber offers a perspective that extends beyond conventional boundaries between artistic disciplines. His participation reflects a broader movement within the luxury sector: the increasing importance of artistic dialogue in shaping brand identity and creating meaningful cultural experiences. Fashion and contemporary art share an interest in experimentation, materiality and the capacity to transform how we perceive the world. For luxury brands, these connections can become a source of inspiration that goes beyond visual aesthetics, opening new possibilities for storytelling, collaboration and cultural engagement.

France and Italy: Building New Alliances

The European dimension of the forum comes into focus at 16:30 with the round table Les alliances continentales France-Italie face aux nouveaux équilibres géopolitiques de l’industrie mode et luxe. Bringing together Luca Sburlati, Sergio Marini, Tristan de Witte, Pierre-François Le Louet and Pascal Morand, the discussion examines how France and Italy can strengthen their cooperation in a rapidly changing geopolitical and economic environment. Both countries occupy a central position in the global fashion and luxury landscape, supported by distinctive traditions of craftsmanship, manufacturing expertise, creativity and international influence. Yet the industry’s future increasingly depends on its ability to respond collectively to global competition, changing supply chains and shifting economic relationships. The dialogue raises an important question for the European fashion ecosystem: how can its historic strengths be translated into a shared strategy for the future? Rather than viewing national identities as separate sources of influence, closer cooperation between France and Italy may offer opportunities to reinforce the competitiveness and international reach of European fashion.

Beyond the Conference: Fashion as a Living Culture

Throughout the day, visitors can explore fashion magazine archives at the Domaine des Oseraies with Jérôme Gautier, meet artists and designers working in residence, and participate in additional sessions as part of the Backstage Fashion Talks. These encounters add an intimate dimension to the programme, connecting the industry’s public-facing image with the research, experimentation and creative work that take place behind the scenes. The day concludes with a DJ performance by Marine Neuilly and a cocktail, extending the conversations into a more informal setting.

A Meeting Point for the Next Generation of Fashion

The Forum de la Mode reflects the changing role of professional gatherings within the fashion and luxury industries. In an environment shaped by technological innovation, geopolitical uncertainty and new cultural expectations, the exchange of ideas across disciplines has become increasingly important. By bringing together executives, designers, researchers, artists, alumni and emerging talents, IFM Alumni Reunion creates an opportunity and energy to consider fashion not simply as an industry, but as a cultural and economic force. At Domaine des Oseraies, the conversation moves between heritage and innovation, commercial strategy and artistic expression, national expertise and European collaboration. It is precisely at these intersections that new ideas about the future of fashion and luxury can emerge.
